Hungry and thirsty and with my wife out of town for work, I walked up to the bar at T-Bocks to rectify the situation. After ordering a drink and a meal, I looked to my left and found a stranger playing chess on Chess.com. Having just rekindled my interest in chess, I deemed it appropriate to introduce myself. The conversation that ensued included the idea of a Decorah Chess Club.
We are now an informal club of about 30 members with a goal to increase membership enough to formalize the club. If you’re interested in joining, sign up on this site to stay informed of upcoming events and try and attend a few.
Currently, we are meeting each Wednesday at Convergence CiderWorks 6-9pm.
